Hi Karen,
Yes, I remember you. You use to live with your Dad.
Well Vocational Rehab, helps you see if you can work and what type of work. You do get paid by each piece of work you do in the training work center. They recommend Dr's who use a sliding scale. They give you an evaulation to see what types of jobs you can get and help you find work. They determin if you can work full time. They do have several programs. You would need to talk to a case worker there. You can find their number on line or the phone book and set it all up. They are all wonderful there. I am no longer at VR due to medical reasons. If they determine you can not work it helps your disability case but you have to want to work in order to get into the program.
I have no health insurance either it's expensive to go to a Dr. I just had to have a CT and then a mylogram as well. I had my myleogram at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. They also have a sliding scale. I had to pay nothing.
I just got my hearing date for Sept. I can not wait! I have been waiting since April of 2008 for my hearing. I applied in June of 07.
You can also talk to Carolina neurosurgery and spine in Rock Hill on Amendment Ave...It's $100.00 for the down payment to see the Dr their then they set you up on a monthly payment plan....very nice Dr's and office staff!
Good Luck with it all.
You can also privite message me any time.
Cindy
