| What services count towards a medicaid deductible?
Hi all,
Here's a bit of my situation....I have a lot of medical problems and have to go to the doctor a lot. I am on social security disability and medicare is my primary insurance with medicaid being secondary (only after I meet my deductible for the month, which is outrageous.) I was born with cerebral palsy and have a host of other medical conditions. I was receiving SSI payments until my dad got social security himself when he was eligible a few years ago. I now receive payments through his record. I have some mental health issues and have been in an intensive treatment program since having a deductible. Now, I am ready to move on from their program and they are telling me that the only way to meet my deductible is by going to a program during the day. I have been told briefly what counts towards it and how to record it (They have taken care of it up to this point.) I am getting bills that should not be my responsibility because by the time I meet it, it takes the DHS person forever to activate it for that month. It is getting tiring fighting for my medicaid. I am on a limited income and can't afford to keep paying things that medicaid should cover. Could someone give me an idea of what counts towards a deductible for medicaid and what doesn't? Thanks. (I am in Michigan if that helps.)
