Yearly SS statements while waiting for SSD case... - Disabilities Message Board

I filed for SSD in July 2005 & have not received the annual SS statement since. That is, until 2 days ago. It was my understanding that you do not receive these statements while case is still pending--my case was remanded back from Appeals council & I am waiting on case to be approved or a new hearing with ALJ. When I opened envelope, it really confused me. Anybody know if rules have changed re: annual SS statements?

I'm surprised that you received the yearly statement.
i was also told when i had applied that i would not be receiving the annual statement, and i didn't. I have no idea why you would get this.

I wondered why I stopped receiving my yearly statements. I thought it was because I was no longer working - I don't think I was told I would not be getting them anymore.

I didn't know about this until I received a letter TODAY from them. They sent it to me because I hadn't received my yearly statement and had requested one from the SSA website. Here is what it says:

"We are writing in response to your recent request for a Social Security Statement.

Because a claim for Social Security or Medicare coverage is pending on your SSN, we cannot give you a statement at this time. Your local Social Security office can provide you with the information you requested."

Looks like someone made a mistake ? somewhere in the SS department >
