I find that really odd, that your local SS office could not tell you anything about how much your getting. Were you just wanting to know about your monthly payments?
Because that information ought to of shown up in the computor in your local office .
Social Secuity will mail you a letter telling you excatly what amount you will be recieving each month, and then other letters will be coming to you about backpay amounts, then your children's amounts.
When I was approved SS made an appointment for me to go into our county SS office. I did not even ask the amount, they told me right then .And also asked me if I wanted SSI or SSDI, they told me the different payment amounts for each one, and when I chose SSDI, I talked to a different woman , who handels SSDI . I recieved the backpay all of a sudden in my bank account through direct deposit.
It take a little while to sort out how much my child would be recieving , and his backpay came later too.
I hope that soon the SS letter will come in the mail and tell you everything about your payments , how much , and when you will be recieving them each month.
My SSDI payment does not come until the 3rd of each month, because that is the day of my birthday . The 3rd . I am glad it was not in the middle of the month .
