i have filed twice, been denied twice. i got a lawyer to help.
i received a letter from the case worker and the lawyer.
the case worker is just introducing herself.
the lawyer tells me to be pateint. it may take up to three years.
i will loose my home and everything before then.

Is this the case worker from SS or your lawyer's office?
Talk to your lawyer about filing under an emergency need status...Tell him exactly what you said here....That you may lose your home and etc.
The last time I was denied and appealed, I chose to go before a judge. I have heard many people say not to get a lawyer and many people say to get one. I havent heard anything from SS except I would get a letter 21 days before the court date. In the meantime, I got a letter from my lawyer that stated it would be up to 3 years before I got a court date.
I will call my lawyer Monday morning to tell him what I mentioned to you.
I dont even own a car now. So there is no way I can keep my home if this isnt settled soon.
Is there anything else I may tell my lawyer to help get this done quickly, or maybe call SS myself?

I think it's definitely in your best interest to get a lawyer at this point. Tell your lawyer about your hardship situation. I'm not sure of the exact guidelines with SS, but I do know that I've read and heard about "hardship" forms that can be filed, essentially requesting one's case be given priority. Your lawyer should know about this.
thank you also Deb53. You are very kind. I wish they could push my case through too.
Its just really bad. Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would be in this predicument. I will let all know what my lawyer says.
Good luck, Grammy.
I highly encourage everyone to enlist the services of an attorney.. the sooner, the better. I took one look at what SSA wanted from me and about fell off the bed, lol.
Funny thing, my attorney didn't say ANYTHING at my hearing except when the judge asked if she had anything to add to my testimony and my attorney said, "No Your Honor.". The reason I won wasn't because of my testimony, it was the thorough job the attorney did with my records and guiding me. I used to hate lawyers, but I think I'll make an exception for this one, lol.
