Dire Need Letter to Social Security Payment Center

I have been waiting for about 7 months for my ssd backpay. I am close to losing home. I went to Social Security Office and they sent in a Dire Need letter for me to the payment center. Has anyone ever had any luck with doing that?

I'm sorry I haven't but what if you talk to the people that you owe the house payment to and show them your award letter as proof of funds that will be comming . Congrats on winning I sorry you have to wait for your back pay. Good Luck to you

Re: Dire Need Letter to Social Security Payment Center

If you have an attorney, contact him/her to push for you.

If not, go to the SS office and demand you be seen my a manager/supervisor due to significant delay. You want to make sure they acknowledge it was not paid and was not mistakenly deposited into an account that is not yours or was closed if you filled out bank information.

Re: Dire Need Letter to Social Security Payment Center

your attorney can contact your mortgage company for you and verify you are awaiting your ssdi and that they will be paid once you receive it.. same goes with any other creditors..

Re: Dire Need Letter to Social Security Payment Center

Well the reason that won't work is I am working on a Loan Modification with my Mortgage Company. I need to get in two payments ASAP and they will put the rest to the back of the loan. If I don't do this I will have to pay almost $10,000 in payments I am behind on. That would take most of my back pay. I don't know what to do. Its the 31st and still nothing. I will be losing my car any minute now. I am really scared and it is making my depression worse.

Re: Dire Need Letter to Social Security Payment Center

Call your congressman, I got mine involved from the start had my hearing jan 19th got the letter jan 21 today got my award letter and backpay. Plus the award letter stated they were sending a copy to my congressman to show it has all been done. Call your local congressman they can wrie a letter and speed things up faster. I was looking at another post someone said they called to check on theirs and they where told ones with congressional letters get priority.

Who new congress would actually be good for something.
