Hello Everyone
I want to share some great news with you guys. Today, I got my Fully Favorable decision letter. My hearing was March 11, 2011 and my decision letter was dated on March 23, 2011. The crazy thing is I actually called SSA this afternoon to check on my status. They told me that no decision had been made from my hearing and it could be about 60 days, before I would know anything. SSA is definitely not on the same page with the other department within SSA. I’m so happy; it’s been a long 5 ½ years battling with SSA. The feeling it so overwhelming and I’m still crying tears of joy. Thanks for all the prayers and support, that everyone has showed me over the last 5 ½ years. So what the next step??? Any input will be appreciated.

Congradulations If you had a Lawyer helping you with your claim, then they will get paid first. You should be recieving a letter in the mail by social security your award letter, how much a month you will get , and how much your backpay will be. Oh I see that you did get your award letter! Awesome. If you have not set up for a direct Deposit , do so. It makes your money go in the bank faster as well as backpay. Instead of waiting for a check each month, then depositing it in the bank.
I believe in the letter it should tell you what and why you were awarded too, and your onset date . Again congrads to you!
Yea'''''' i'm glad theres good news for a change. Thanks goodness you did not give up. If you can please help others on this board that are still going thru the process I'm happy for you YEA"""""""""""
The "fully favorable" letter is telling you that you are approved. You should get a subsequent letter with details as to benefit amount, date of onset, date payment begins, etc.
no-you just rec'd official notification of the decision-the awards letter will follow-but be patient-it could be a couple weeks or months-depends on how fast there processing-but you won and thats what counts-i would call back though and just make sure they have the bank info you want your money direct deposited to-and go out an buy a big accordian file cuz you are gonna start recieving so much correspondance from ssa i am not kidding!!
Congrats on your win. I have a couple of questions. My case was recently remanded by the appeals council also. How did your second hearing go? I've searched for information on this and can't find much of anything. SS has statistics for just about everything with this exception. *sigh* Very happy for you and hope you get your backpay and benefits soon!

Everything went pretty fast for me when my cases got remanded back to the ALJ. I got my remanded letter back from the Appeal Council on Feb 15. About 3 days later, I got my hearing letter from the ALJ. That process was all within a week of each other. The ALJ’s attitude and the whole atmosphere had changed. It was like night and day from my 1st hearing. He was more understanding and compassion. He actually talked and asked me questions the second time around. My lawyer said when they get a case remanded back to them by the Appeal Council, it a very serious matter.

Thank you. I'm nervous also but hoping for a better experience this time around. When a case is remanded it usually goes back to the same judge unless that judge is not available or the appeals council finds that he was biased after a complaint was filed.

Congrats on your win after such a long ordeal, and thanks for updating everyone and giving an account of how the system can work when people have the right attitude and a willingness to fight.
