Re: fully favorable!!!!

Congrats!

The back pay was in my account within 2-3 weeks. The check came the next month.

Thank You. I got full SSDI and I also get some SSI but I know it will not be alot. I can't wait to pay these way overdue bills I will be a happy camper when I can put those checks in the mail!!

Is it true you backpay can go back 12 months after your onset date? Do they usually do this or does it just go from your onset date?

Re: fully favorable!!!!

What wonderful news! Congrats!

Check your bank account. Many times, the back pay comes before the letter.... mine did!

Congrats! I know you are jumping for joy. I'm awaiting my decision and it will be 60 days on Aug 14th. SSA Office said if I didn't hear from them call on the 15th to see if the Judge has made a decision. I'm glad you got a fully favorable decision

So happy for you! I never knew how hard all of this could be, I thought if you couldn't work you turned in the papers and you get it, but I am learning this is just not true. With every approval there is happiness and I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congradulations to you At what level did you win your claim? Your date of onset will be how social security will determine your backpay. It can go back longer then a year as long as social security aggrees . With me, social security changed my date of onset and I lost nearly a year , however i still was paid over 2 years worth back pay.
Be sur ethat you gave social security your bank account information because then they will deposit your money right in for you and it is faster. Sometimes backpay money just shows up even before the offical letter comes. That happened to me . But, if you have kids you do need to go down to the S.S office so they can recieve benefits off your record. As long as they are younger then 18.

Re: fully favorable!!!!

I went all the way to the ALJ hearing, it has been a long many years for me to finally get my approval!! Now the waiting begins on getting money to pay my bills. I am going to get SSDI as well as SSI. When I called my local office today they still said they had not received any paperwork but someone should call me soon or I will get a letter for them, I have heard it takes alittle longer since I am getting both. I wanted to go up there to add my bank info and my 2 kids but if they have no info yet I didn't want to wait all the day in the office for them to tell me I either needed an appointment or there was nothing they could do until they received my info. What you all do? Wait? I waited so long to be approved and I can't remember if I gave them my bank account ever I know it is the same one we had when we got our tax return back in Feb. So maybe they will have the info already?
Thanks everyone for the warm wishes on my approval I hope everyone can get there approval's soon as well!!!!

You are going to recieve many letters from social security soon. One about your approval and date of onset. And it should have how much you will be getting each month. The approval will tell you excatly your medical conditions and how you were approved. You may also recieve a letter with a appointment to go in and set up your childrens benefits , and any other information they need. This is when social security will ask for your bank information so be ready for that. I had direct deposit set up so they just put my back pay right in. Direct Deposit takes a couple months to be processed so your first few checks will be recieved by mail. I would wait until I get the paperwork by mail or a phone call to do anything. I do not like having to go down to the S.S. office either , they are very slow and it can take hours just to talk to somebody.
Again congradlulations to you
