Has anyone on here joined a fitness club under Medicare called silver sneakers its free to anyone on a Medicare advantage plan. I joined and it's a great way to stay in shape you can join any fitness club you want. Im really getting back into the shape like i was when i was working, lifting weights is just like lifting boxes like i did for 30 years.

Good for you Vann? Tell me more? You said you can join any fitness club you want? That is great...we now have a local YMCA here where I live. What does it cost you Vann? Did you just join up after you became eligible for medicare? It has to be an advantage plan, right? Any advantage plan or just some?
Did not cost me anything you have to be on Medicare I joined through my advantage plan went to the club showed my insurance card not Medicare card.Thats all I had to do can go to any family fitness club I want.
I am happy when people get approved I am just letting people know about this free benefit you get when you are on medicare.
My vascular dr. said that the best thing for me is to walk, because there is nothing he can do at this point. And he said my chances to have a stroke or heart attack are more than doubled because of my peferial artery disease ,so I exercise to keep my heart strong and I am on a low carb diet now. No more beer for me. I'm not going to sit and get fat and lazy and just wait to die.

These are good programs my hubby goes to one. You do know although you are not charged that medicare or your advantage program is billed. We know someone who was on disability that lost his when he used this benefit at 57 once they got the bill for it and noticed the nature of his claimed disability . He was looking some serious issues lucky for him his doctor was able to convience SSA that new meds allowed his condition to improve.
