i've been seperated for 3 years, and finalized a post nuptial in july 2002... the problem with finalizing the divorce at that time was that neither one of us filed a complaint for divorce... so, in september i filed the complaint, and in pa there's a 90 day waiting period... which was up january 6th.... our waiver and consent forms along with the necessary paperwork was sent to the court house here and recorded in the prothontary's office on jan 7th... my question is this.... if any of you know ... how long after this is recorded with the prothonotary does it take for a judge to sign the final divorce decree???

it feels like i've been waiting forever for this divorce to be final... and all they keep doing is making me wait longer.... supposedly this is the last and final step before it's final.... i'm just curious if anyone out there has been thru it here in pa???

I don't know anything about the divorce laws in Penn. but I may be able to offer a few suggestions.

Do you have an attorney? If so, he/she should be able to answer all of your questions for you. Even if you haven't hired an attorney you should be able to just phone one up and ask a few questions without being charged.

You could also visit some Penn. divorce law websites. Each state has one and there are usually message boards or chatrooms where you can ask questions and get some advice.

Hope this helped a bit! Sorry to hear that your divorce is being dragged out. All that does is drag out the pain of the divorce itself and delay the healing process.
