24/7 Dizziness
I'm not sure if this is where I should be writing to, but here goes.I have had 24/7 dizziness for the last 3 1/2 years. It all started with an ear infection, that turned into an inner ear infection that killed the nerves on my Cochlea. Still have no real diagnosis as to why this happened. My ENT seems to think it may have been caused by an auto-immune, I have active RA and Lupus. One of the specialists I've seen thinks that I had a stroke in my ear. Went to bed one night and woke up totally deaf in left ear and only about 25% hearing in my right ear. Had nausea that lasted about 3 days - never without a bucket. My Ent sent me to a specialist and he gave me steroid shots in my right ear which improved my hearing close to 60%. Over the last couple of years my hearing has slowly gone down and ended up with hearing aids, which worked well for 6 months then I woke up one morning and was totally deaf in right ear. I've been to several specialist's - Otolaryngologist and a Neurotologist. I have an appt with another specialist at Johns Hopkins Hospital to find out about a Cochlear Implant. Has anyone had an implant done and has it helped with the dizziness? I'm trying get some info before going to Hopkins. I also have this really loud roaring in my head and hoping that maybe that will improve with an implant. Sorry this is so long but wanted to show my history.
