Mal de debarquement syndrome

Hey
It all started 6 months ago ehen i got off a plane...
A couple of days later i started to feel dizzy and unbalenced like i was swaying side to side.
Soon after it got more serious i would feel dizzy and like i was about to fall of the face of the earth. I went to the doctor and he said it was an inner ear infection and it should go away within weeks, it did go away but it came back and it has been 6 months. It has been mentally painful and i wish it could stop.
So im thinking it is Mal de debarquement because when it stopped i went on a kayaking expedition which was 32 k and when i got back it started again.

Re: Mal de debarquement syndrome

Its definitely not an inner ear infection, very few doctors know how to treat dizziness so they like to dismiss it and hope it will go away on its own. It could be MDD, but it could also be other things such as vestibular migraine (can be triggered by flying, and by strenuous activity, like kayaking). I would ask to see a neurologist or ENT specialist for evaluation.
