Here's a bit of how it strated about a year ago as I was sleeping and dreaming a head on collison I awoke suddenly with the room spinning so much so that it cause me to crawl to the bathroom to throw up. The only thing that had happened recently was that I had a root canal and a crown put in. I had never had vertigo or dizziness before. The dizziness got better I was perscribed valium and it eventually subsided but for quite a while everything was moving, lights and sounds affected me too. It's come back a couple of times but never as the first time. Also what helped me was pt to neck and the positioning exercise they do for the inner ear. Now it's back but it's constant now. My father has been in the hosptial, especially there elevators high floors, I am always dizzy and lightheaded, it gets real scary. The motion of the car when we are stopped is bad, walking fast, almost everything is constanly in motion. I'm not sure what to do now its been constant. Are there different types of vertigo? Any suggestions? I have a hard time figuring out what to do now.
Re: Recurring Vertigo
The mention of light and sound sensitivity is important, do you have any history of migraine headache or aura? One of the most common causes of balance problems is migraine. Migraine is much more than a headache disorder, 30% of migraine sufferers also experience vertigo (MAV). Even if you dont presently experience migraines, then it is still possible to have MAV.
