Light Sensitive, Light Headed when Driving

I am light sensitive, especially fluorescent lights. And now get light headed when driving.
In the past four weeks, I have seen an Neurologist, Optomologist (annual checkup) and Opthalmologist. They all give me a thumbs up saying they can't find anything. I had MRI scans several months ago and they showed nothing wrong.

I did have a colon resection done this past April to have a tumor removed. I am cancer free by the way. My latest blood test showed things look good.

I just don't understand. Is my body not absorbing minerals correctly, Do I need more sleep?
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Re: Light Sensitive, Light Headed when Driving

Hi DizzyinOlympia. Congratulations on being cancer-free! I was wondering if you could give some more details on your symptoms.

For years i have had difficulty driving because of dizziness, a feeling of being "not quite there", and subsequent fatigue. When i was younger i actually drove an extra long route home from work because i enjoyed driving so much but gradually the symptoms made that impossible. I think the fatigue is down to the fact that i have to work so hard to take in my surroundings (esp when they're whizzing past me) and concentrate on my co-ordination. Although i dont know what the cause is, i do know that my most troublesome symptom is visual vertigo, which is made worse by movement, bright lights, lots of colour, and generally just lots of visual stimuli - supermarkets and moving crowds are a nightmare. The way i describe it to people is like when you are in a car sitting at traffic lights and the car next to you starts moving, sometimes you're brain misleads you into thinking that YOU are moving. Everybody including non-dizzies has experienced that. Your bring then figures out that it is in fact the other car that is moving. To me, visual vertigo is when your brain is having to work hard in that same way pretty much all the time to varying degrees, but esp in supermarkets, driving etc. I hope that has been some help to you. Good luck (and please dont panic - that makes it worse) x
