I have had 12 vertigo attacks in the last 3 months and each one has lasted 2 hours. Some weeks I had 2 attacks and the ENT doctor hasn't helped me or know what is causing it. Before these started I was fine, no dizzy problems at all. It has to be something that happened recently. I did bang my head on the car door before the vertigo started but I didn't think it was related - now I'm not so sure. I thought I had BPPV but I read that the vertigo only lasts several seconds and all my attacks have been 2 hours.
I need help and don't know where to go. I have been drinking alkaline water but it hasn't helped. I'm drinking a green powder drink to get more alkaline in my body so I don't react to everything.
Ask your ENT for a referral to an Otologist. They are ear specialists, and can rule whether the problem is related to the ear, or central disorder. Given that a head injury started things, a perilymph fistula is a possibility, but this is a rare diagnosis.
