Chronic Persistent Lightheadedness SUCKS

Yes, I have had Constant Never-ending Lightheadedness for 25+ years and it is getting severely worse. I can't even sleep on my side AT ALL!! I feel like someday this "lightheadedness" will take my life away and I will end up Bedridden. That's had bad I have it!!

This lightheadedness (very heavy head) feels like I am on a pontoon boat rocking every which way NO STOP and I hate it...to the point of no end. Has anyone every had this feeling or know anybody with it. I also have ringing in the ear (I have aced all my hearing exams), had an MRI of my ears, seen ENT, taken Meclizine, did the Epley Manuever for left ear (made it much worse), drove 6 hours to see a specialist in dizziness....what gives...nobody has a clue on what I have. I thought it might be Meneires but I have Never gotten sick from my violent spins (last violent spin last oer 30 hours as I was in bed the entire time). ANy movement of my head causes a ricochet affect of heavy rocking.

I used to be a long distance runner in my teens, 20, and 30s and now cannot run hardly at all. I remember after getting off a treadmill from running for 3 to 5 miles and my body felt as if I was still moving...so weird. I don't like to ride in elevators...I have a fear of heights....don't like carival rides...never gotten sick in planes. My lightheadedness get much worse with very loud noises, or even woken at night by light noises such as meowing of cat. What a mess of a life I have lived for so long.

Any help and I mean ANY help is super greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I am past going nuts on finding a solution.

Re: Chronic Persistent Lightheadedness SUCKS

Sorry to hear of your situation. I have been to the point with dizziness before (meniere's-type symptoms) and I know how you really question if this is what life will be like forever. For me, the answer was a bit of yes and a bit of no. For me, things will never be back to "normal" but on the other hand, my head is so much clearer, fog has mostly lifted, I haven't had spinning attacks for a few years except for a bad spell for about 2 months. So things will likely get better though it is hard to see that it would.

Keep trying different things and keep looking for correlations. So Epley makes it worse - that is interesting that it is not always random and has something to do with the canals/fluid. I know I currently have some positional vertigo which gets worse/better depending on different types of exercise and different allergy responses. Maybe keep a diary and try to see if there is anything else other than Epley type positions that affect yours. Fight on.
