I'm new to this site and although I see a lot of post similar to my problem, I will go ahead and tell you my story and ask for your advice.
It all began end of August, the night before my vacation. The week prior, I felt off. I noticed that my ears hurt and felt blocked. I felt a little off beat, my head felt heavy. I work in a hospital and asked one of the doctors to look in my ears. He saw nothing wrong and suggested that I might be coming down with a cold, his ears always itched before a cold lol.
The night before my vacation, I was in the shower and all of a sudden, got very dizzy. Nothing was spinning, but definetly lightheaded. My mother in law suggested that I was problem anxious about the trip. That whole night, I didnt sleep. I felt like I had drank one too many. At this point the room was spinning and I couldnt find a comfortable position.
We left nonetheless on vacation and the 8 hours car ride seemed fine, until.... I got out of the car. All of a sudden I was hit once again, with this feeling like the floor was moving or that I was on a boat. I tried to make the best of my vacation but I was terribly ill ( nauscious and vomitting). We came home and went straight to a walk in clinic. He suggested that I had vertigo ( BPPV ). He prescibed me CERC and sent me on my way. The CERC did absolutely nothing but make me feel druged.
After a few days, I decided to go to my family doctor. She suggested vestibular neuritis. She told me to stop taking the CERC, take GRAVOL as needed and get plenty of rest. After a month of not feeling well, I finally pushed her to do tests. She sent me for a blood test, MRI and to consult an ENT doctor. The blood work came back fine. The first ENT doctor dismissed me with having something viral. I decided to seek a second opinion. This new doctor was willing to have me do other tests like an ENG for further information.
After 2 months of feeling like this, I slowly started to get depressed. I mean who wouldnt. I decided to seek the care of a psychologist. I thought maybe it`s anxiety related. After speaking to my family doctor they decided to give me clonazapam and paxil. The clonazapam worked for a while, but now I just feel tired all the time. I stopped taking it and Im feeling a bit better. I have not taken the paxil yet. I fear the side effects.
So to make a long story short, Im going on 3 months now, of this constant feeling like Im walking on a boat. I feel pressure in my head and ears. My neck is sore and I am tired all the time. I have no idea what it is and neither do the doctors. I really feel helpless and frustrated. I feel this way because on the outside I look fine to others but on the inside I feel like crap. I am unable to work. My health insurance is starting to pressure me and refusing to pay me because a proper diagnosis has not been met. Does anyone have any advice or feedback.
I woulf really appreciate it !!!

I suffered with similar symptoms for six years. It started with bouts lasting for a week or so and then eventually became an everyday thing. A Nucca chiropractor helped significantly. I have also recently started wearing glasses for a condition called verticle heterophoria...google this. I had trouble in cars, grocery stores, malls etc etc
Similar story here, I was sent to an Audiologist who did
ENG/VNG testing. Mine was inner ear damage and have to have Phys Therapy.
If you have insurance coverage maybe you could ask your dr to refer to have those tests done? My Primary care refered me to a Neurologist who then refered me to the Audiologist.
I hope you get help. I feel your pain. Literally. God Bless.

hi there sorry to hear your not feeling well.Did you ever get your jaw checked.I have tmj and get similar symptoms, also how is your ferritin level? mine is low and it can cause alot of the same symptoms. hope this helps.
Hello, unfortunately I do not have any advice for you as to what it could be, because I am going through the same thing. However, I am only 9 days into similar symptoms- and I can attest to the fact that it's awful! So far I've only been told its some type of inner ear infection, but I'm still waiting on my MRI/ VNG appointments. I know I can't provide much alleviation, but sometimes just knowing someone understands helps. It's a debilitating sickness, and it's extremely difficult because everything thinks you "look fine" so therefore you must "be fine" while all the while you feel like your entire world has been shaken. Well, I hope yours improves soon!
Im just going to list the things that have helped me as I went through the exact same thing for 6 years without any help from the Medical world at all.
I see a Nucca Chiropractor regularly who adjusts the atlas only
I stated taking a premium Omega 3 oil
I went to Fresno California to meet with an eye specialist who diagnosed ,e with "verticle heterophoria." Please look it up. I now wera glasses with a special prism lense which aligns my eyes.
Although I have not done this yet because I feel good, many peopple believe this sudden onset of dizziness is caused by a virus. Taking Lysine and Olive Leaf extract can rid your body of it.
