Bppv- and flying

Hi, I fly for an airline as cabin crew. I flew Long haul for 22 years with no problems
.I transferred and opted to do short haul flying 3 years ago- this is when my problems started. Within a couple of weeks the vertigo began, horrendous attacks, the last one lasting almost 3 months.
So, my company switched me back to Long haul, where I have stayed healthy, have the odd unsteady feelin but no BPPV.

Why is this? Does anyone know why smaller aircraft and more take off/landings per week might cause this?

My company now say I must return to the short haul duties and I am terrified of being ill again. Help!!
