Can anyone relate to this?
I woke up one morning and i leaned to knock my alarm off and i had full on spinning vertigo. I had it if i turned my head either up/down or looked up or down and also when i layed down in bed.. I felt foggy headed during the day and not myself. I was prescribed prochlorperazine tablets and after a few weeks it seemed to settle.
Anyway last week while laying in bed i felt like my head swayed quickly for a second and then my head felt instantly dizzy and heavy. I tried to walk down stairs and the stairs looked like they were jumping/shaking every time i took a step, i had to steady myself with the walls. Since this my head has felt heavy and foggy again but different to last time. Also I was eating some fruit before and i tilted my head back slightly to get the juice and i instantly went really dizzy and since then my head has felt heavy and fuzzy again. I can't think straight either.
I am seeing an ent specialist on the 7th feb.
Does this sound like bppv or anything else. It's really worrying, i have saw a few gp's who all seemed to think it was bppv but i am not so sure with it easing for a few weeks and then returning.
Zipster, I think that you are on the right path by going to an ENT doctor. I am not familiar with BPPV but Googled it and the symptoms match some of what you have experienced. Don't be discouraged if your ENT cannot find a solution. I met with my ENT yesterday for my dizziness and nothing conclusive was discovered even after having gone through some tests. I am being sent for an MRI just to make sure that my brain is OK and also for an ECOG. Like you, my dizziness came on suddenly one day about 7 months ago and have had it since. I have been to my PCP, an Ophthalmologist, and an ENT and so far no luck. I am scheduled to see a Neurologist as well.
By the way, how are you doing with the prochlorperazine? I Googled it and that is some serious medication. I take Xanax as needed for Anxiety and I noticed in one occasion that it completely resolved my dizziness for a few hours. It was Heaven!
Good luck with the ENT and hope you get well soon.

Thanks seekingpeace. I took the tabs for a few week and it seemed to settle the off balance feeling . I stopped taking them for a few week and then My head went funny again. My head feels odd and pressure in the left side all the time and mild headaches in my temple area. I am worried something serious is going on.

Agree with these points and can not say more than that for you.
Hi Zipster, I've had similar symptoms and same medication and I was diagnosed with viral laberynthitis, which is an inner ear infection and I still suffering from it, it is now 8 weeks since my first attack and I'm recovering very very slowly. I've have more good days than bad ones. I don't take the medication anymore, I tried few balance execises (Brand-Daroff), one of them, with no improvement, the best I've found so far is Tai Chi and breathing exercises. I hope this help
Guys i experienced exactly what Zipster was when i woke up in the morning a few days ago. I almost faint, good that i manage myself from falling down. Until now i always feel dizzy, just this morning also feel the same. I browse a lot since then in the internet and learned things about it. I'm not yet seeing doctors for this.
