Question When will I see?

You can see by my name that my daughter is going to be 6 months in July! I was hoping that there might be someone with insight as to when my DS babie might start to fall behind when compared to "typical" children? I understand that children with DS are as different as "typical" children are. As of month 5 Meg has developed like a typical child meeting all her benchmarks. The problem is that I don't want to talk myself into thinking that she is going to be just like her cousin that is 2 weeks older (like my in laws tell me). Meg is wonderful and has a great personality, and I love her more that you could know .... although I bet you know the feeling .
Any insight as to when I might see some delays?

I would say the crawling and walking stage. Can she sit up yet? My Amy had to be taught to sit up because even though she could do it, she did it all WRONG, they said. She would lay flat on her stomach and then bring each leg up right-angle to her waist while pushing her body up with her hands!! It was something to see!! LOL Little did we know it was a no no.
I've got 8 kids so I'm having trouble remembering, but I don't think Amy crawled. I think she went from sitting to pulling herself to a standing position to walking. And we had to trick her into walking.

Do you have a physical therapist to help her to strengthen her muscles? We were taught to lay her in our laps on her back and push against her feet to get her to push back. Down's babies' muscles are so lax, you know. They need help to strengthen them. We worked on Amy so much that I remember Amy being able to pull herself from a sitting position in my lap to a standing position holding onto my fingers, while her cousin, born 2 days after Amy, couldn't even sit up yet. I was so PROUD!!
Meg sounds like a darling, and every accomplishment will be priceless because she had to work so much harder to get there than other babies. It makes each milestone that much more special!

We have a physical therapist that comes for Keaton. While he has no muscle tone problems he is 8 months old and not sitting yet. Our other two sons were sitting up by 7 to 8 months, I really think and know that Keaton can do it but I think he does not want to he gets around just find when he is on the floor rolling around on his tummy or back. I remember the therapist in the hospital told us that Keaton will do everything that his two older brothers did but he will just do it at a slower pace.I know it will happen soon.
