I have noticed for the past year or so, her arms and hands turn redish/purplish and get cold. She had surgery for an Atrial defect when she was 4 and not had any other cardiac issues since. I took her to see the Cariologist and they did an EKG-Echo and for the most part, the results were normal other than some slight pulmonary hypertention. Does anyone have any idea what this might be?
I forgot the name of it, but it sounds like what my sisters have, and I believe my daughter with DS have. It has to do with low circulation, the blood isn't circulating well to the hands and feet and they turn purple. There is no treatment for this, just make sure you keep her hands and feet warm! I have poor circulation also, but my hands/feet don't actually turn purple.
I was just wondering it you are talking about the "typical" mottleing of the skin. My daughter is 4 with no health issues but her skins gets this circular bluish, pinking whitish mottles. I may have spelled the word incorrectly.
Wish you well.
