Question Doctor told us chances for down syndrome, based on results from ultrasound...

Hi, i'm new to this, but i need to find out what the possible chances are that our baby might develop down syndrome.
We went to our first ultrasound 1 week ago and it was pretty awesome, the baby waved at us we are 21 weeks pregnant this week.
We went to go for a routine check up and the doctor told us that the baby has a thick heart valve, sumthing along those lines and that this double's the chances of the baby having down syndrome . My girlfriends blood test was negative for any abnormalities, and i think the chances for down sydrome or anything like that was at 1:554. So i guess because of this heart thing with the baby chances are 1:250. Should i be worried?? I don't know if there are any similar stories out there but any advice, replies would be nice and greatly appreciated, Thank You.
