How long did it take to feel well again?

Hi Linda,
Although I was not on the same dose as you (400 mg), I did experience mouth sores while taking it and recently stopped. My taper was very quick as I was on a lower dose. When I stopped initially, I noticed my head just felt plain "weird". I can't put my finger on what exactly was different, but it was an unsettling feeling. That feeling went away after about a week. Since I've stopped it completely, I've noticed that I am more anxious and having trouble with sleep...althought that was always a problem. My pain has also returned. Another thing I noticed is that I lost weight. I believe I slowly gained weight while on the Neurontin, even though my activity level had increased. That's a good thing! Perhaps you can increase the dose slowly and stay there awhile to see how you feel. If you can tolerate it, Neurontin can be very helpful. It helped with my sleep and the pain. I didn't realize how much until I stopped it.
Good luck.
