Damaged, Hi, I take effexor 75mg also and I do drink while I'm on it. I don't drink every day though. Just once in a while. It hasn't done any thing to me.
Is it okay to drink alcohol if you are taking effexor. I'm taking 75mg of effexor xr and was wondering if it was okay to drink while taking this.
If you read the infomation pamphlet with the medicine it states that alcohol is a no-no so you shouldn't drink with any anti-depressent medicine and never ever with any anti-biotics as it makes them useless. It kills the medicine so you may as well not take it.
I once knew someone taking this anti-depressant, who also drank alcohol while on this medication, the key word being KNEW, they are no longer around, i hope this answers your question.
