I have read in the PDR that advil and diuretics as well as beta blockers conflict. I understand the diuretic conflict (water retention), but what about the beta blocker conflict? Can;t find why this conflict.
Nonsteriodal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (Advil) inhibit prostaglandin production in kidneys. They may cause hyperkalemia, most commonly in patients with diabetes, renal insufficiency, or those receiving beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, or potassium-sparing diuretics.
