Yikes! Mixing?! You mean something like a RX pain killer like vicodin and a RX amphetamine like adderall? These two types of drugs have scary side effects on their own, put 'em together they're lethal.

Never take them at the same time. "Prescription" speed balling like that not only destroys the heart muscle but it could also cause massive organ failure, seizures, brain damage, psychosis, embolisms, aneurysms - tons of unpleasant stuff can happen.

If you absolutely have to take them, ask your doctor/pharmacist how many hours apart you should take them and take them exactly as prescribed.

OMG, Auntie Leela: Do you think Adderal on it's own destroys heart muscles, etc.
And further more: Do you think Opiods destroy heart muscles, etc.
I don't think you're around anymore, but I sure hope you show up.

Thanks,
Nelee

Re: side effects from mixing opiates and anphetamines

I take both. I take Oxycodone Fentanyl patch and also Dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy. The Fentanyl patch is time release. I usually space the Dex and Oxy an hour apart. I was told there would be no interaction but makes me nervous.
