Ongoing effects after stopping Zoloft - Drug Interactions / Side Effects Message Board

Ha anyone else had side effects from Zoloft that have continued even after you stop taking it? I took Zoloft for depression last year. I had side effects which included weight gain and the constant feeling of butterflies in the stomach. It also did wonders for my depression. However, because of the alarming amount of weight that I gained, I stopped taking it a year ago. The strange thing is that my depression never came back (first time in my life I've felt like that cloud wasn't there without meds). Also, the feeling of butterflies never went away and I have not been able to lose the Zoloft weight despite hard exercise and strict diet. Has anyone had an experience like this with Zoloft?

have you had a complete thyroid panel done?

Yes. Back in March my doctor ran one and it came back normal.

Yes I stopped zoloft cold turkey 150 mg after being on it for about 6 or 7 months.I got off because I gained so much wieght it was ridiculous!I also lost my sexual drive.Im 42 yrs old and I just couldnt do it nomore.This did help my depression and I also feel ok and not depressed after being off of it but I am getting lightheadedness alot.I hope this helps.
