can I take the both drugs together? Is there a drug interaction?Is it safe? thank You

I've been prescribed xanax for many years and last week my rheumatologist prescribed my neurontin knowing i also take xanax.

If you have any questions about your meds , be sure your doctor knows all of the medications and vitamin supplements you take.

I take Neurontin and Xanax as well. There are no drug interactions. You can check at: http://www.medscape.com/druginfo/druginterchecker (It's a drug interaction checker).
I find that when I take Neurontin and then Xanax together, the Xanax works to calm me down, but I don't get the drunk feeling I would normally get from it. Just thought I'd mention it. I took 200mg of Neurontin with 3 mg of Xanax the other day and I didn't feel any of the "Xanax high" I usually feel. But again, the Xanax still did it's job to calm me down. It's funny how these things work together.
