Yes indeedy, it does sound like metopolol could be the problem.
Erectile dysfunction has been reported as one possible side effect of metopolol and all beta blockers for that matter. Also, respiratory side effects, although rare, have been reported in 1% of patients using beta blockers and include wheezing, bronchospasm, shortness of breath and, here it comes, rhinitis, which seems to be what you are dealing with.
Definitely speak to your doctor about this and discuss an alternative medication.
