I will give you my thoughts until the others with more info chime in. I am not on Xanax but I am on a medication for my heart that is listed as a medication you should not eat grapefruit with. My understanding is that, with any medication, it is in your system (which is a good thing) whether you have just taken the med or if ten hours have gone by. I have read that with my medication (Verapamil) there is something in the grapefruit that binds to the medication and can ramp up the potency of the medication to what can be a harmful level. As much as I also liked grapefruit I'm not willing to take that chance.
