Last summer I swallowed a broken multivitamin and it went down with the jagged part running down the right side of my throat/esophagus. It hurt really badly, but went away after a few minutes. Fast forward about a month and I start feeling a bit of discomfort in the same area. Like a bruise.
So I made a dr. app't and she said it was probably just healing slowly because I have occasional acid reflux. She gave me a med for the reflux and said to come back if it didn't get better in a month.
It didn't, I went back and she referred me to an ENT to take a look inside.
I have been waiting for 4 months for this app't, it is thankfully coming up at the end of this month (long wait times to see specialists here in Canada).
In the mean time, I feel like there is something in my throat. It is not painful, but it is uncomfortable, like I said, it feels like a bruise. It's weird because I can sometimes feel it where my tonsils are, sometimes way back at the base of my tongue and then most times, in the spot where the multivitamin scraped. No lumps on my neck, no swollen nodes. When I look in the mirror, I don't see anything strange.
Anyone have any idea what is happening? I am thinking that 8 months is a really long time for something like this to heal properly? I am 33, in great health, busy mom, never smoked, active all the good stuff.
Any insights/ similar experiences are appreciated!

That is exactly what I am going through, except mine started when I swallowed a chip 2 months ago. The side of my throat where the chip scraped it hasn't healed and it always feels like there is something there and food that I swallow is getting caught up there. I recently saw an ENT and looked in my throat with a camera. I ate an apple about 30 minutes before my appt and had that similar feeling, yet nothing could be seen in my throat with the camera. He said it was red due to reflux. I am trying to just heal my throat right now to see if things will feel better.

Forgot to mention that I also feel a bit of soreness on the same side in my neck beside my windpipe. I can't wait till my ENT app't can't come fast enough.

I've lost 30 ibs since feb 18 and I had a back pain for about a month which luckily went away and the doctors refused to give me an X-ray. But a doctor gave me z sinus and chest cat scan

Throat infection, sorry to hear. I had swallowing issues one day from eating quinoa, and today I ate qunoia without issues. I think I started using DGLs before eating and they do heal my throat. You should try it. Also, sitting in a wet sauna and breathing eucaliptus helped me a lot too. Try to have a diet and healthy lifestyle. I think this is stupid LPR which causes so much trouble

It sounds identical to what I have been suffering with and a very similar cause. Mine is improving slightly but far from perfect. Hope it clears up for you.
