| Schatzki Ring
Has anyone been diagnosed with a Schatzki Ring? If so, what was done for it?
I have been having trouble swallowing for a couple of years now, but the past few months it has gotten worse. Food feels like it is stuck like a blob in my throat. And lately, even pills and water feel "stuck". It is worse at night when I go to bed. My doc ordered a barium swallow test and they found a Schatzki Ring in my esophagus just a bit above my stomach.
I was told that the size of the ring will determine what they will do. If it is 20mm or greater, they will not do anything. If it is under 12mm, they will do some type of intervention. If it's in between, then it's a gray area. I found out my ring is 7mm. No wonder I'm having trouble swallowing!
I've never had GERD, but have been having a bit of heartburn lately.
I'm waiting to find out the next step from my doc. Geez, it's always something.
