I have the numbness in the back of my tongue and it feels very swollen. Have the same horrible taste in my mouth all the time, even though I can only brush the front of my teeth. And it feels like something is lodged in my throat too. Had the surgery on Monday, so I am really only on Day 2 of post-op. Hope it gets better, today has sucked as far as pain goes. I am about to attempt to eat some jello pudding. Just had a few sips of gatorade earlier and that hurt! |
I went back to work after two weeks. Like I said, I still don't feel 100%. I lost about 10 pounds. Pain was not a problem because I kept on top of my pain meds and drank and ate "real foods". I know it hurts, but I believe that eating your regular diet will help you recover faster. Not steak, just really soft, home-made foods like eggs, oatmeal, grits, rice w/gravy, mac-n-cheese, small bites of baked chicken, etc...
Hope you get better soon~
