Has anyone else ever had this? My surgery was last Wed...my entire tongue is white...I told the office over the phone and they prescribed me meds for thrush..but it burns to "rinse and swallow" that crap.....My tongue is coated in white, swollen and painful... h.e.l.p.
It's possible that you do not have thrush. Mine was the same way after my tonsillectomy. I did my best to scrape it off and brush the best I could in between and over time it disappeared.

I did the rinse twice today and can I tell you that now my *()&#$&*()& tongue is hurting worse than my throat...it feels like it is slit wide open on the right hand side in the back where it connects to my throat.....
now I know what people said when they talked about it getting worse
Yes, I know what you mean. I think my tongue hurt worse than my throat. I had a huge blister on the side and anytime anything touched it, it would burn for a long time after. It will get better!
An alternative cure for thrush is diflucan.. used to treat vaginal yeast infections in women. I took two doses and cleared up my thrush in 2 days. If the swish and swirl is burning ask for the diflucan.
