For what seems like an eternity I have been getting pounding in my ears. Its like I can hear blood rushing and pulses all the time. I keep feeling really dizzy and spaced out too. When I go to the toilet and push I have to hold on to the wall as I go so very dizzy and the blood rushes round my head so fast it is scary. I can get dizzy any time. When I lie down to sleep the pounding in my ears drives me nuts. I get very spaced out a lot of the time too and feel very very tired. can anyone shed any light on what might be wrong please?

Hello, I was wondering how old you are because it could be related to menopause. I also have the same symptoms as you discribe. They do seem to be ciclicle, sometimes it's ringing in my ears and than comes the dizziness. I am 48 and have been going through this for 3 years now along with other symptoms of menopause.

Strange you should say that! I have also been having what appeared to be cystitis on and off for months but all urine tests come back clear ( a doc suggested I may be starting the menopause). I get headaches nearly every day too. I am 46. Since I posted I scoured the net and found a disorder called something like Pulsatile tinnitus. It can have loads of causes. One of them is to do with neck arteries being compressed and I have cervical spondylitis and fibromyalgia which both give me neck pain?
Perhaps I should rule out menopause by asking for a test.

What about seeing an ENT? I have dizziness (vertigo) - for many years - it comes and goes. This type of specialist is the best one to diagnose these symptoms and ear "noises" as well (tinnitus). I've never heard of menapause causing dizziness.

OMG...dizziness is in the top 10 symptoms of menopause! Right there with brain fog! LOL

I have suffered with benign positional vertigo and ordinary vertigo and to be honest I can say this isnt true vertigo. Its just a sudden vague dizziness made worse by stooping, bending over, raising my voice, getting anxious etc etc.
I do get spaced out...like I am not quite here if you know what I mean. I can also fluctuate from feeling slow and then speedy. I do get occasional heart flutters too. Its the damn pounding in my ears that worrying me and the constant nausea especially in the mornings.. I am under inverstigation for possble ulcer at the moment but perhaps I coud make a start by asking if my ears could be syringed at my local doctors surgery.

You learn something everyday!! I've been in menopause for 8 years now. My dizziness started long before that, unfortunately.
