Unhappy Blocked Ear

Has anyone ever experienced these symptoms? I had fluid in my ears, due to a bad head cold (2 months ago). Unfortunately, I had to fly home with this condition. I've seen 2 ENTs several times. I took Nasonex, and it seemed to help. 2 weeks ago, I went back for a checkup, and the doctor said everything was fine. A few days later, one ear blocked up again. I know it takes a long time for fluid to disappear, but this is so annoying. Ear tubes are not an option, and I wouldn't do it anyway. I will have to go back to the ENT again.

Re: Blocked Ear

Arlmon--I'm wondering how your ear problem is by now. As I recall, our ear problems started about the same time (fluid in ear). It doesn't feel like fluid in my ear anymore--just pressure and tenderness in the throat area by earlobe. My PCP looked in my ear a couple of weeks ago but didn't see any problem. If you have found a solution, please share as I'm at wit's end....I suppose I'll have to break down and go to ENT.

Re: Blocked Ear

I was just at my GP's and he checked my ears and said they were clear. One ear is good, the other sometimes pops when I yawn. I have no pain (I never did). It's just annoying. Maybe you should see an ENT - that's what I did. I always believe if you have a problem, so see a specialist - that's all they do, so they should really know their "stuff". Hope you feel better.
