Question Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

I am 38 yrs old. I have been having tonsilitis off and on for 20 years and acne too. I am quite convinced that my left inflamed tonsil with tonsil stones causes acne on the left side of my face usually. I was wondering if any body else has the same problem. I also have herpes simplex Type 1( cold sores) from time to time.
I would appreciate responses.
Thanks.
Babs

Re: Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

Hi,

I'm curious - what makes you think the inflammed tonsils and the acne are connected?

Re: Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

whenever I have inflamed tonsil I see more acne.My theory is that the pus formed in the tonsils probably gets into the blood flow and manifests in form of pimples. I am sure it is one of the reasons I cant seem to get rid of the acne with any topical remedies. I am thinking of getting my tonsils removed.
Thanks for your interest,
Babs

Re: Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

I am not sure if these symptoms you are having are connected. I happen to have the same exact symtoms though. I am 30, have had acne since teenage years, have a left inflammed tonsil, and get strep 5 times or more a year. The only difference is my acne is not limited to the left side of my face. I am thinking of getting my tonsils removed. Do you think this could help?

I am pretty sure now.I plan to get my tonsils removed as soon as possible. There is nothing to lose, except bad-breath. Please let me know what you plan to do. May be we find more people with the same issues.
thanks,

Re: Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

I had a consultation this morning in Beverly Hills. I am going to have my tonsils removed in a couple weeks. I am NOT looking forward to the recovery process, but it will be nice to have all these problems go away.

Re: Tonsilitis and Acne Anyone?

Hi Jaysmuprh,
Please make sure that your docture will just remove the tonsils and not the uvula. I have heard that sometimes they remove it accidently.I hope you have a short recovery and I hope the acne will go away too. Don't forget to let us posted.
