Question Why Do I Have Blood In My Ear

When I woke up this morning it felt like I had a hang-over, which seemed strange because I had nothing (alcohol) to drink last night. I discovered quite a bit of blood in my ear. Then I remembered that during the night I had been awakened by some very bad pains deep in my ear. It wasn't like an ear ache pain though. Last week I had severe head ache so bad it felt like my head was going to explode. The head ache started above my right eye and then moved to above both eyes. The blood was in my right ear. What could be wrong are they related?

Re: Why Do I Have Blood In My Ear

If the pain above the eyes was the result of a sinus infection.. and this infection traveled to your ears.. lack of treatment may have resulted in an ear infection.. if an ear infection goes untreated it can result in a very painful rupturing of the ear drum.. once ruptured the drainage can be mucus/puss or bloody. I had this happen when I was 8.. now at 31 I still remember it. Got to a MD and get it checked out.. if it infected and ruptured you will need anti-biotics and ear drops to aide in the pain and healing to come. Best of luck. Note I am not an MD and this is only my personal opinion. When in doubt get it check out. Bleeding of the ears can be a very serious sign of many other problems.

Sincerely,
MG
