Is it normal to have wax oozing out of the ears?

My nine year old son always has the outer part of his hears covered with gooey wax. It seems like they're always covered and it's really gross.

I know that the ear naturally expells ear wax in order to clean the inner ear but should it seem like it's oozing out?

Re: Is it normal to have wax oozing out of the ears?

For how long has the wax been coming out? When you say oozing, about how much wax do you find?

Its possible something could be stuck inside his ear, or that this is just normal for his ears. If this problem has occurred suddenly, I would consult his physician as soon as possible.

Also, has he been experiencing ear pain? Hearing loss or any other problems ear/nose/throat related?
