My wife is being bothered by an echo in her ear. She mentions that everytime she talks, she can hear a echo in her ear. She says she can hear herself when she talks. Is there anyone else that has had the same experience?

I have had this echo in my right ear for only two weeks but find it very annoyiing.
I have seen my doctor who clasified it as TINNITUS but I don't agree.
What is ENT that you were having done and did you find the cause or solution ??
Your wife may be bothered with the same thing I have but i do not consider it an echo. I describe it as vibration. Every time I talk I feel vibration in my head. The louder I talk the louder the vibration. I too hear myself talk which means I hear the words on the inside of my head the same way you do if you plug your ears and talk. I also at times hear my heartbeat. My head feels conjested like from a head cold. I feel like I am full of cotton. Your wife may be in for the long haul as I have had this problem now for 10 months and no Dr has a sure answer.
Does your wifes ear feel full like she has water in it and needs to pop it? Mine started on June 12' 08 while doing dishes. All of a sudden my left ear pluged up. To keep this as short as I can I have been to ENT, Audiologist, Oral Surgeon and TMJ Specialist. They all have their suspisions but no answers. I have been treated for allergies repeatedly with no relief. I was then referred for possible TMJ (read up on this one). No treatment helped. Now I have had a 6 mo checkup with my Audiologist who said my hearing has worsened and that I do have fluid in my middle ear. Back to the ENT who is now treating me for Cohlear Hydrops which is basically caused from too much sodium in the body. So far no releif. best of luck to your wife.
