I have been having trouble, came on all of a sudden, with feelings as if food is getting stuck in my throat. I cough and nothing comes back up. I have been to the ER and then to the ENT. They can see nothing noticably wrong with my swallowing or my throat, even with the contraption down my nose..
The feelings haven't gone away. I have tried to relax but I still get them
I have been cutting my food up into small pieces and chewing well and still get the feeling/fear of choking. I even get the feeling when I eat nuts that are chewed properly (off of a single pistachio)
I am not sure what to do

Could it be a problem with my tonsils or something else?
Doctors have checked my throat and my glands and it doesn't appear there is an infection. Is this all in my head??

Go to a gastro intestinal specialist.. I would suspect GERD and a possible Hiatal(sp) Hernia. My husband had the same effects you are discribing it was a ring hernia stricture low in his esphogus and it had to be stretched out.

I have no other symptoms other than this...no reflux, etc..no heartburn..
this is the only thing..it feels like it is getting stuck right in the middle of my throat by my adams apple
Did he have any other symptoms other than the swallowing?
I called the ENT today..I have to call them back tomorrow
Should I go to a gastro? The ENT already scoped me and saw that my swallowing action as normal.

My husband would chew the smallest bites of food or try and swallow medicine and it would feel like it got stuck and he would choke. As the ring stricture hernia got worse he would choke and have to throw up the blockage. It became very serious and the only one who detected it was the GI.. and the GI then fixed it the next day. If the ENT doesn't have an idea ask for a referrel for an good GI.

I have no problem with pills and vitamins..those go down just fine

Too bad I can't live on themmaybe pills go down smooth since they are designed to be that way.

I feel as if little particles of food get stuck down there..not necessarily large pieces..I have to wash stuff down with water and cough from time to time..

I called my ENT last Friday..they said if it doesn't improve by this next Friday. for me to call them back and they will do another test on me..possibly a barium swallow? I am hoping it goes away, but I am a realist..I don't think its gerd like they told me..it appears to be something else
