Question Sudden Hearing Loss =\

Recently, I've experienced a sudden loss of hearing (possibly?) in one ear. It happens randomly for a second or two and then everything seems to return to normal. So far it's only happened a few times.. I've had problems for a while now with ringing in my ears, and it may be that the ringing just gets abnormally loud at times and causes me to think I can't hear. I'm really not sure how to describe what's going on.
I don't know if it matters, but a while back I was diagnosed with the flu after a swab at the ER and started taking Tamiflu. Since then, I've been to my doctor twice and I've apparently had an ear infection both times. I've had them cleaned, I took two different antibiotics, as well as Nasonex to try and open some tube? I don't remember the name. I'm getting worried now because I don't want to completely lose my hearing in that ear.
Do other people experience things like this with ear infections? Or is this possibly something worse?
