Ok. I have had the feeling of blocked ears for about one year. I have seen three ents and Im seeing an allergist as well. I also had a tube put in my right ear, but its not helping. My ent said my ears aren't blocked, but they feel like they are and i get sinus pain on my right side, my right ear is more severe then the left. It hurts very bad fron the pressure, but since i have sen my allergist the pain has minmized, but i still have the feeling of blocked ears, but i dont have fluid what is wrong with me? any ideas?
I saw three different ENT's with the same problem you have before i took the first one's advice went to see a TMJ specialist. I was ANGRY at that first ENT but then i started to research that the symptoms fit me for TMJ. Ear pain, ear congestion, headaches, neck aches, disrupted sleep. I would advise you to at least get it checked out (its about a 2 hour deal with xrays and a battery of tests).
i went to a loud gig last tuesday and the next morning i had a lot of ringing in my ears, this went the day after but i was left with a feeling in my ear, mainly my right ear which was next to the speaker, i decided 2 go to the doctors to see what was wrong.
he said i had a build up of catarrh in the right ear and a small amount in the left.
he gave me some decongestant tablets and said it would clear quicker...
its driving me mad and its started to ache a little, does this mean that the tablets are working? or should i go back and see him?
anyone else had this problem? and is it caused by smoking?

Mine started when I tweaked my neck - c5/c6 herniation all the way back in october. I believe mine is also due to neck/shoulder and upper back muscular tension. Perhaps some TMJ / JAW dysfunction too.
My ears feel like there's liquid cement in them, but I notice it's worse at different times which to me means that there's variable inflammation in some part of my ear.
Honestly this problem has become a mess for me. I hope it gets better soon - I am on 8-9 months of this.
