White mucus in back of throat after tonsillectomy!
I know it is completely normal to get that white stuff in the back of your throat after a tonsillectomy - they are the scab type things.
However, i'm on day 15 post op and i still have this white stuff lurking. It is more like a mucus consistency and when i gargle with salt water and a hydrogen peroixde mouthwash i can see little bits of the mucus coming out in that - the only problem is that it looks like a greeny colour!! I've only just finished my antibiotic course (Augmentin) so it can't be infected!
Any help will be appreciated and would like to know how long it took
other peoples white stuff to go away?

dont worry it is completely normal to have over the long course of your healing. I asked my mom why i had it so long and she said its a healing thing that its really good. and i trust her cause shes a nurse.

Hi Purplehazey....Not everyone loses all their scabs within the first 10 days. It's natural to have some hanging around for a few weeks. The last of my scabs were finally gone after 3 weeks. I actually was lucky, since it took longer for the scabs to come off, I didn't experience the amount of pain some people had.
Take care.
