Ringing in ears - years after surgery
I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for resolving this problem.
I had a typanoplasty and canalplasty about 10 years ago to close up a large hole in my ear drum. It's worked extremely well and I haven't had any hearing problems as a result however, I've a few on-going problems.
1) I have a constant ringing noise in my ear. This is basically a very high frequency noise that sounds almost like feedback on a microphone or something like that. I hear this 24/7 all the time and have just learned to filter it out over the years.
2) I get occasional problems where wax and debris will block the ear canal and I have to clear it out with antibiotic drops. I've figure out my own ways to prevent and manage this i.e. I keep the canal clean, but not so clean that it irritates it.
Anyone have any experience or advice on similar issues that they'd like to share?
I'm particularly keen to come up with a way of reducing the tinitus. However, I'm not really interested in having serious treatment i.e. surgery.
