Thumbs down PLEASE HELP Does Sinusitis include swollen lymph nodes and sweating?

For the past 3 days I've been experiencing symptoms I thought were from a common cold. I woke up on Wednesday with an extreamly swollen tounsil but not an extreme soar throat. Then the congestion and cough began. The next day I could not stop sweating, sneezing, coughing and I had a terrible headache that I woke up with that would NOT go away under any circumstance, I tried EVERYTHING. I also had nausea and fatigue. I could barely stay up, I was falling asleep in class even though I had a full 8 hours of sleep the night before. That night, I couldn't sleep consistantly. I would wake up every hour with a runny nose and again sweating. During the day I started feeling pain in my ears and terrible pressure in my sinuses and behind and between my eyes. So I assumed I had a sinusitis and I looked it up. All my symptoms corresponded to what I read about sinusitis except the sweating and what I just discovered all over my neck: swollen lymph nodes. Are those also common symptoms to sinustis or do I have something else? Whatever it is seems to just be getting worse and worse. I can't breath at all through my nose and the pressure is just getting unbearable. To make matters worse, swollen lymph nodes on my neck are appearing by the minute, I now have about 5 or 6...
I would really appreciate some advice or input before I go see a doctor.

Re: I Have Questiones about my symptoms

It's really hard to tell but you definitely could have a sinus infection - the sinus pressure and fatigue (along with a fever and discolored drainage) are the main symptoms doctors tend to look for. The swollen lymph nodes can be the result of a sinus infection (or any other kind of infection for that matter).

You have enough of the common symptoms so it's probably worth a trip to the doctor.

DITTO - what gcsmithjr said.

I wanted to add that if this is a continual problem, I would get tested for allergies. I suffered a long time with sinus infections, post nasal drip etc...never thinking allergies until a good year and a half of constant illness. Let me save you the time.

Re: I Have Questiones about my symptoms

If you have only ONE swollen tonsil get it checked out. This happened to me and it was Tonsil cancer.

Re: I Have Questiones about my symptoms

i'm not trying to scare you but if the night sweats become a persistent thing...please get it checked. that is a sign of cancer. it could even be lymphoma from what you said about your glands all being swollen. best of luck and i hope you are feeling better. give me an update if you can.
