Back from the doc - Ear, Nose & Throat Message Board

I've been having a lot of sinus pain/pressure over the last few weeks. I have seen some green/yellow but not consistently. I've been irrigating 2-4 times a day and that does give me relief for a while. I take Sudafed 12hr daily, mucionex.

The doc seemed shocked that i was irrigating so much.. to me..if i get any relief from it i'm not stopping. I can't imagine what i'd feel like without it.

He gave me 2 wks of Omnicef and prednisone for 5 days. They also scheduled an appt with a ENT for me in about a month.

I go to the dentist in 2 wks and will get their opinion on my crown (really acted up recently)

I don't think 2-4 times a day is that unusual - most people who have chronic sinus problems irrigate at least 2x daily (morning and evening) and my ENT recommends at least 3x daily (morning, noon and evening) for people with chonic sinus problems. Seems like you're right in-line with that so I'd keep it up.

I have no intentions of stopping. I told him where i work is really dry and the moisture from irrigating lasts longer than a saline spray. I can't imagine what i'd feel like if i hadn't been irrigating. Another strange thing for the day, i felt reasonably good at the store when i got my rx's filled. Walked outside and pressure hits again. I'm going to change my furnace filter tonight also.

not sure what is going on, but today my sinuses do not hurt, i don't feel any pressure. I haven't had a chance to irrigate either. I seriously doubt the one omnicef could do that. I haven't taken any of the prednisone yet. I was hyped up enough putting out fires at work.
