I got my tonsils out on the 15th and today i had regular food because i have been starving because jello and applesauce just wasn't cutting it.

So i had some really tender roast beef and mashed potatoes and bread. Well right after that my throat started to hurt really super bad so I took one of my lortabs and went to bed. I woke up and it now hurts horribly bad to even touch my skin on my throat, my neck, my cheeks. And it hurts to open my mouth.

I am scared I have done something wrong and i wouldn't know i i can taste blood or not because every time I swallow the pain masks it and i cant open my mouth wide enough to see.

Any idea what is going on with me. please reply soon

Did you eat solid foods before the doctor said you could? If he gave you the "all clear" to eat, then I wouldn't worry that you have done damage. I know that the run of the mill everyday sore throat is always so much worse in the morning. Things swell up, get dry and tender over night, it seems. Are you allowed to do any sort of rinse or gargle to ease the discomfort? I'd give your doctor a call and just let him know how sore it is and find out what you can do. I hope you heal up quickly!

no....i didnt get the all clear--i just figured since the pain was going down I was getting better. and now the pain is everywhere. All my muscles are sore and hurt to touch, and my skin looks almost red....

I think it's time to call the doctor and have him take a look-see. It does sound like you are sick as well as recovering from your surgery. The two could be related. I hope you get well soon! Update us after you see the doc!
