Swollen lymph node on jawline

I don't know if this is the best board to post this on, but here goes. My son (22 yrs old) has a hard swollen lump (pea-sized) on his jawline. It is not painful. He has not been sick with any cold or flu type illness but did have a stomach bug maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'm sure this is a lymph node from its location. He is very reluctant to see the doctor and is kind of blowing it off. I wish he didn't show it to me because now I am worried about it. What do you think?
