Small white projection on Soft Palate

Hello everyone I am new to these forums and I have a concern. I have noticed a very small, white projection/bump coming off of the soft palate for around 3 months give or take. The closest thing I have come across by searching google is a papilloma related to HPV. I am very worried. I haven't had sexual contact with anyone for years. Could it just be a random bump? I tried poking it to try and remove it but I was unsuccessful. The whole HPV thing really worried me. I actually went to the doctor two days ago for unrelated food poisoning and he didn't notice it when he looked into my mouth. < edited >

Thanks very much

First of all, you should really get that checked by a medical professional.
Any advice thereafter is free game.

Where on the soft palate is this projection?
Could be an infected sebaceous gland perhaps?
or an overactive sebaceous sac? does that exist?
